HOW TO BE HELD IN SERVICE LEARNING? Logo_de_AES

At first - contextualization - will work on the place and problems of people who will go to help. Good learning requires knowing what you are looking for and how to look. Depending on the knowledge of this reality will be planned activities to do once you make the meeting.

On the appointed day students will attend along with the head and volunteers to perform tasks that are part of their service learning - experience. These tasks have been agreed during the preparation.

After the experience will have a moment's reflection to share what each one is living, thinking, feeling. This instance can also be performed from the time of catechesis curriculum.

Their intention is to encourage action to work with the needy. Therefore, as it progresses over time, will be incorporated into the proposals that they may be contributing.

This whole process will be evaluated in terms of conceptual development, progress, responsibility, availability, behavior, attendance and punctuality. This note will accompany the social attitude.

PLAYERS :

  • STUDENTS
  • GROUP RESPONSIBLE FOR: be a teacher at school who always accompany the group and evaluate students.

  • ADULT VOLUNTEERS: Parents and teachers of the school
  • VOLUNTEER CHILDREN: 5 th year students, who perform their service learning experience to accompany smaller children.

Sites involved in service experiences :

At the initial level:

GARDENS Normal: The program targets children at this level can be exchanged throughout the year 2 pastoral experience sharing time and activities with disadvantaged children in gardens.

At the primary level:

SAINT FRANCIS OF ASSISI SCHOOL: From 1 st to 5 th grade, the children will 4 meetings a year with the school, "St. Francis of Assisi." In these areas share a sports experience, an artistic experience, a scientific experiment (using the laboratory ) and a religious experience (eg work together on an Encounter with Christ)

FREQUENCY OF EXPERIENCES :

INITIAL LEVEL:

In 2 or 3 times during the year. The duration will be arranged by activity.

PRIMARY :

  • the 1 st to 5 th grade: 4 times a year. The duration will be arranged by activity.
  • 6 th and 7 th grade: 1 time per month for 2 hours in the activity.
SECONDARY :
  • 1 st to 3 rd year: 1 time per month for 2 hours in the activity.
  • 4 th and 5 th year: 1 time a week for 2 hours in the activity
